Falling In Love And Out of Order

I’ve been told that it’s a good thing that I’ve pulled back a little from work and am experiencing love. But I have to admit- once my work obligations began to lessen, my frustrations have mounted. I’m meant to work, to unfold my ideas, and create a path for other people to succeed. As much as I love being in a relationship- I love to hustle.

I’m sure I’m not the first woman to juggle work with love. Won’t be the last. But as women we have to admit that as much as we can be successful in the workplace, love still throws us for a loop. Time spent wallowing in those warm gushy feelings takes from your focus and determination at work… at least initially. And a few months after you’ve been bitten by the love bug you realize it’s time to get back to work.

Your life’s work (for some) is an expression of who you are. It is a place in this world where you are able to express your thoughts and make an impact. Even though love may come in and take your attention for a bit, being able to express yourself is key.

Women have all different forms of self expression. Working as an entrepreneur is mine. But no matter what yours is, you have to be sure to not lose it (and even put it first) because it will ultimately make you a better person in the end.

Self expression first. Love second. You can’t love as an empty shell.
