It kinda hits you all of a sudden that you are no longer a kid. And with that comes the most overwhelming thought ever—What am I going to do with my life? Up to that point you were just coasting along…enjoying life, rebelling against the little things, and for the most part going through life’s checklist. Then comes the time when you make your own checklist based off of what it is you really want from life.
There are so many options, and it is hard to narrow what you want to do in life to one thing. But in order to have tunnel vision and succeed at one thing, you have to start weeding out your options. Make a list of everything that you want to do in life. Look for common threads. Where does it seem that all your interests collide? What are some of the things that could hold off until later in life? What are the things that could simply become hobbies? Now that you have it laid out, put it in order. What do you want to do first? Start pursuing the first thing on your list. Realize that over time you’ll be able to do everything that’s on your list—but in order to take the first step you have to select one thing. Once you have a starting point, work towards achieving it.
Developing tunnel vision comes with focusing on a single thing. Once you infuse that focus with a passion for what you’re doing—you will be successful.
