Find a niche market that you can dominate. A lot of entrepreneurs attempt to create a product that competes in the mass market. Instead of being one of many, find your perfect niche and stand out. Here’s how to determine your niche…

  • It’s About HOW You Advertise

Posted in: Career, Life Architect, News

It’s not only the message in your advertisement—but the way you advertise yourself or your business—that sends a message. Advertising on a billboard sends a different message than advertising in a well-renowned publication. So is choosing to advertise through print oppose rather than word of mouth.

  • Attracting Start-Up Talent On A Budget

Posted in: Career, Dream Building, Life

As an entrepreneur you realize that in order to get that big idea off the ground you’ll need a team. But without the money to pay them, how do you find top talent? There’s a lot of ‘catch 22s’ that come with building a business. One (of the many) you’ll find is that in order to make money, you need a team. And in order to retain top talent, you need money. But here’s how to get around that…

  • Our Society Doesn’t Cultivate Entrepreneurship

Posted in: Career, Dream Building, Life

I have to admit that I was thrilled to see that the White House held a Maker’s Faire.  I was equally disappointed that it wasn’t widely talked about. But I can’t say that I was surprised. This society just doesn’t cultivate entrepreneurship (which is ironic because it seems like that is what our economy was based on). It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to see why the economy isn’t thriving.

  • Are Millions The Goal?

    What defines success?

Is it money, fame, material things, and/or freedom? For each person the answer is different. But you have to admit the perception of success is usually similar. If you see someone in nice clothes, big house, and a nice car, you would assume they were successful. Ask yourself this- if you saw someone walking down the street at 3 o’clock in the afternoon with a smile on their face in normal clothes, would you define them as successful or happy?

  • Pulling Out

Posted in: Career, Life, Life Architect

I have to say the life of a slacker has been enjoyable. The past few months have offered a lot of rest, especially mentally. Prior to this I was going and going and going non-stop. I never liked to ‘waste’ a minute. My entire day was full of to-dos (imposed by myself and others). And to be perfectly honest I was burnt out. I was going at full speed but I can’t really say that I was moving anywhere. Taking time to pull out allowed me to see things in perspective and really be selective about what I do on the daily.

There are people in this world who are doing what they want. They are living the life they want. Traveling where they want. And loving it! They have obligations, hardtimes, brokenhearts, and scars all down their backs from all the times they were stabbed. But yet they find a way to make it happen. It’s a determination and dedication to their goals that take them above all the drama and into the life of their dreams.

  • How Much Do You Charge?

Posted in: Career, Dream Building, Inspiration, Life Architect

    by Dream Guider

There’s a principle called supply and demand that says in a competitive market, the price for goods and services will settle at a point where the demand for that item meets the supply. For example, a drug store could probably never sell it’s brand quality lotion for $20 in 2014 because the demand for lotion will never be that great, and lotion is not a scarce item to come by, so people won’t shell out a lot of money just to have it. But when it comes to your product sometimes it’s a little harder to determine what the price should be, particularly when you have a unique product. When you see just how much work it takes to do something— it’s harder to determine a selling point. Do you allow the consumers to set the price? Or, do you set the bar and only sell to customers willing to reach it?

  • No More Obligations!

Posted in: Career, Life, Life Architect

For a while I was going non stop. I worked 14 hour days (sometimes longer) without a problem. But then my scales tipped and I lost all productivity. My 14 hr days went down to the standard 8 hours and I preferred to do anything but work. I was distracted, but in a good way. Now that I’m at the stage of picking up the pieces—I realize some pieces can be left behind. The things I do going forward have to make sense and have to add to my life instead of simply adding to my schedule.
